Training to boost your employability

Through partnerships with training organizations, Le Relais Francophone can offer you distance learning or face-to-face courses on the following subjects:

  • Essential computer skills,
  • Languages (French and English),
  • Financial literacy: an introduction to personal finance and the banking system

Essential computer skills course

Course description 

Are you a newcomer to British Columbia who would like to improve your chances of finding a job? Take part in the "Essential Computer Skills" course given by Relais Francophone to improve your computer skills!

The cohort consists of three hours of lessons plus one hour of homework, for a total of four hours per week for twelve weeks (not counting public holidays). At the end of the program, those who have participated in at least seven of the twelve sessions will receive a certificate of completion.

Training is available online or in person, at 627 Columbia Street, Suite 202, New Westminster, B.C. V3M 1A7.

Learning objectives

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Increase your chances of being selected for the British Columbia job market. Upon successful completion of this program, participants will be able to :
  • Have a good basic understanding of computers
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel
  • Have a basic understanding of Internet scams and how to protect yourself online
  • Become more independent with computers.
